Fuse Questions

Is the Fuse a good board to start out riding waves with? Or is it better to bite the bullet and learn to ride with a surfboard? Is the Fuse a good choice for riding the blowout? How hard is it to go upwind with a fuse? Lastly, Does anyone know if you can stuff a Fuse into a NSI Golf bag?

I have a fuse 152 adn I love it. I bought it for the coast and now I ride it all the time here in HR. Sold my twin tip and started focusing on riding, carving, and not so much jumping due to back.

I rode this for about a month before getting on a strapless surfboard. When I did get on a strapless surfboard I was able to do great. I actually hit some jibes my first time out.

Hi Mike :

Fuse is definitely a good way for a twin-tip rider to get into wave/swell riding, as well as work on carving up and down the river swell.
The Fuse is a great compromise between having a twin or having a surfboard, especially for riding in the Gorge. But, if you are looking more specifically for a coast wave board, then going all the way over to a surfboard is usually a more effective investment.
Out of the whole Slingshot board lineup, the Fuse is definitely my favorite (even better when upgraded with softer pads and the NSI Ratchet straps).
The fuse will just barely fit into an NSI Golfbag. When I go into the shop today, I'll double check just to make sure (the 07 boards fit, but supposedly the 08 boards are 2 centimeters longer).

If you want to try one out, we have a demo at the shop and I have my personal board that I usually take with me everywhere.

Like Brett said. it also fits in the NSI bag.

I like my fuse but find I don't ride it all that much. Even to the point that I thought I might sell it. I*t is great to learn in the ocean with for the reasons mentioned above. The downside to the fuse is that its ability to plane on the waves is rather limited. At 200lbs, I don't really get to "play" in the swell that much. I'm playing around, but I'm definitely not surfing.

I rode the fuse in the blowout and next year I am going to be on the surfboard. The fuse is a light wind animal and I'm happy I have it. If I had to make the decision today, I'd probably lean more towards the surfboard.

check the classified section, I got a 07 fuse for sale with NSI Pads and straps for a deal you cant pass up.

nak .....the fuse fits tight into the deciever like said before the zipper is shorter than the bag but with some elbow greese it goes in fine if ya can stuff it in a few days before ya fly as to streach things out a bit towels on the nose and tail help........one place the fuse is MONEY is on the inside of places like the oregon coast.....under the inpact where the water is thin and smooth on surf boards with longer fins this zones is a dice roll ......but the fuse eats it up even if ya hit the construction and small thick fins keep on powering im sure youve beached your skate no problems.......beach a wave board ........or hit on a roll out bottom turn.....things get costly.......the fuse takes sometime to get dailed they ride more flat and like to be stomped.......very thin and flexy......its more of a cross over....still twin tipish but set up darectional the tail is ment to stay back and the four fins keep it i check.....i ve tried lots of fins and stance.....for me a wider stance and wider based 3 in fins on the center set seems to keep things from slideing so much....great board for anyones quiver..........

everybody I know that has them is selling them
I think they are very harsh (slappy)and do not track well at all (legs tired)
not too bad for light wind (if you can hold it place)

I like the way Doyle has made an attempt to to make a TT surfboard
but it's best for going flat and probably made with downwinders in mind
with all the fins in place it rides
in the backseat (fuk that)
which I cannot stand as I ride on the front of my boards

I would keep looking
