How windy is the campground? Looks like this weekend is going to go off... do I need my 4 season tent?!?

How quick does the campground fill up on a windy holiday? Still available by noon on Friday?

Looking forward to my first trip down south, so to speak.

some of the sites (the best ones) are pretty exposed to wind, but a regular tent is fine if you stake it. I saw one roll away while I was there Shocked
i bet it will be full, sorry for that bad news, good luck

it can be pretty windy in the campground, some tent sites have a little better protection than others. As far as spaces go you can probably find a spot even with this being a holiday weekend but there are no guarantees

It's a pretty small camp ground and it's a holiday weekend so it will fill up really fast get there early if you wait till Friday night you might be out of luck finding a spot.

We have always used a tent down there and never had any problems with it. Bring warms clothes it can get pretty chilly and quarters for the showers... have a fun trip Floras is a great place Very Happy

Anyone got the water temp at Floras this time of year?
It's been a few years since I was down that way.

Yes, there is a KOA about three miles from FL down south on 101. I pass it on my way from Port Orford every day. Let me know if you need more details on this spot and I will check it out on my next way out to Floras. Also, there is a Cape Blanco State Park about 10 miles down south of FL. I looked at that one and it really rules, all lots are very private, and it is a very nice location.

There are camp sites with little wind.

Not sure, we'll all be fine cause they don't charge extra for tents, so long as you're not a freaky loud sleeper we can all pile in to one area. Bring warm cloths cause this is the coast.
