heading to maui first week of sept08. friends were saying recommending to hit Kitebeach, Waihua Beach park and Kihei. I was trying to find info on this site, and found the following link (Maui Sucks):

i was wondeirng, if anyone has any more recommendations and where these fotos where taken...
staying in wailea, but have wheels.

| most likely you will be kiting on the other side of the island from where you are staying. Maui is amazing. enjoy. If you can swing it, take a helicopter ride around the island...its sick. |

Naish Beach and Action Beach, both near the airport in Kahului are great spots. Be sure to keep some of your gear easily accessible in your luggage, then look out the plane window when you land... if kites are up... you can be on the water in very short order!
You'll probably be driving at least 1/2 hour every day to kite from Wailea... but sometimes the spots in Kihei work (southerlies).

| Swing by Maui Dive Shop and rent snorkling gear and get their dive guide. You will not regret it. Canoe beach in Kihei is good for Kona (south) winds. Kite beach for the trades. Don't miss the Flatbread Pizza Company in Paia. |
