I'm thinking about heading down this winter for some warm water while Hood River is frozen over. Any suggestions on kites/ boards for the area? What sizes are optimal for the conditions down there? Any advice between Ventana and Barilles? I've heard both are pretty good. I want to travel light so I'm thinking 2 kites and a board... suggestions?
Someone must know as most of Hood River is there for the winter... _________________ JHB |

Everyday 11m, if you are like 175lbs like me and a 130'ish board, and maybe a 9m or a 7m for the El norte days, or if you don't like to be loaded. but I would also suggest a surfboard and a big kite as well for light wind and waves bra! _________________ Helping companys to innovate bricks-and-clicks supply-chains and orchestrate real-time content to deliver customized channels to scale strategic e-services and facilitate global e-markets which will incubate 24/7 niches and seize dot-com channels. |

Kraemer and Twin-Fin could both help you. they were down in February for a week. have fun. It is a killer spot.
Also, Brett, who teaches for KiteTheGorge, was an instructor in LaVenta this last winter. He could give you the skinny. |

i ride my 9m 90% of the time (155lbs) and 123 twintip or racing board depending on the conditions. Bigger guys use up to 12m.
On El Norte days, i usually switch to 7m.
For water lessons, we usually use 7m or 9m kites.
