Alright so basically I lost my board during the blowout today. It is an '09 134 Naish Sol. I lost it about a half a mile upwind of swell city, where the wind started to get crazy and the carnage started. The board is all white on the top with naish logos under and a BOTG sticker, no board handle. If anyone has the board or has seen it can u please call me on my phone 206 349-6973 thanks

posted this in the lost and found section as well....

LOST - WETSUIT -

Well, not really lost, just not returned yet. Loaned a wetsuit out to a guy from Chicago named Chris to use during the blowout. It's a Hyperflex 4/3. If someone runs into him tell him he get it back to me at Stevenson.

Not too worried yet - just trying to locate it!

Thanks,

Tony

Ashank,
I think Phil picked up your board on the river today. Just send him a PM.

A big thanks to Ashank for recovering my board/bindings. Very cool.

Another round of thanks to Scott & Brad at or near Swell/Hatch for recovering my 16 M80, bar, & lines.

Even bigger thanks to a tug operator who blew his horn at a crucial moment...bow less than 100 yards & closing (dead-center) as I was focused on resolving a very big other problem...tea bagging to 15-20 feet with left foot dangling out of my binding suspended by 16m in mid-30 mph gusts.) It was undoubtedly the hardest-hitting moment in 9 years of kiting.

Thanks to Ron & Donna for a pick-up on Hwy 14 after a long swim.

Finally, a big apology to Carol for hitting her head with my arm during the shwag toss.

It was Blowout I will not soon forget.

Glad you made it to shore safely....I saw you sitting in the middle of the river with no gear in site and just could not make any ground upwind to help Shocked That was some crazy riding around the hatch

I tracked Chris down and have your wetsuit in HR. I am in HR for the rest of the summer.
Maybe if you are riding on Monday or Tues at Stevenson, I can go ride with you and give you the suit back.
Chris only made it 7miles but is already thinking about next year. He thanks you!

Very Happy Ron

Who lost their red and white kite just upwind of the hatch/swell? I was kiting along and was watching the kite floating along and wondering if someone needed some help. As I got close, I couldn't see anyone attached to the kite or anyone in the water even remotely close by. It looked like the kite lines were snagged on something.

Gusts and swell eventually demanded my full attention but man, its was kind of creepy.

that was my roommate derry mcintire. his spreader bar blew up. he lost everything. josh solbach took time out of the race to drag him to his board which had caught wind and swell and was racing towards the finish without him. he couldn't swim fast enough to catch it.

he then paddled to oregon and walked 20-30 minutes along the train tracks til he got to wells island, some jet ski picked him and his kite up at that point. one line snapped, spreader and harness destroyed, kite ok.

i guess he was closing in on the top 3 when it blew apart.

the bastard is on a plane right now for peru and this....

I flew by a spreader bar right before the hatch. Then saw a kite with no one connected, but was blasting down wind so overpowered I had no chance to help.

I talked to pkh and he says that it wasnt my board that was recovered, but someone elses. So if you could please still keep an eye out for my white naish twintip that would be great.

Tony,
I gave the wetsuit to Ron as I couldn't locate you after the event. Thanks for the help, sure glad I had it for the Blowout.

I lost my board too in the Blowout. Black Wipica Mauricio Pro 130. I didn't have my name on the board, however, there are some very distinctive oyster shell marks in the heal side edge I picked up in Corpus Christi.

Anyone know how to contact the Bonneville Dam and when they might do their board sweeps?

Thanks much,
Chris
