So i leave Florida friday, from there i plan to:

Arrive in seattle, spend a few weeks there visiting family, then I begin making my way down the oregon coast late aug. for probably about 2 weeks. then make my way up to the gorge near early middle september for another 2 weeks.

Does this sound like the best idea for possible wind, my plans are not set in stone and would love any ideas.

Im bringing the 3/2mm wetsuit with booties. For 1-2 hour sessions, will i need more this time of year?

I know that floras lake will have an event early september.

Lots of free time, play it by ear. You may want to spend 1 week in the Gorge, then 3 at the coast. . . 3/2 won't cut it for the ocean, especially if you get the wind from the n/nw for long durations of time because that wind brings down the colder waters from Alaska etc. 4/3 minimum I'd say. . .especially if your dragging for your board and or have some type of breakdown and have to swim back-in. Booties are optional, but in most cases your feet will get numb at some point in time during your session. Hell, I did a Manzo 2 1/2 hr session in mid-july this yr and my feet got numb even with booties and it was sunny outside--wicked cold water.

Conversely, the southern winds bring up warmer waters from the south, but that weather pattern isn't as prevalent in the summer time, although there just was a brief southerly system that just came through.

Don't forget to make offerings to "the TROLL" when crossing over the bridge from Gearheart to Seaside. . .it is a semi-human thing that kites and lives under the bridge. . . There seems to be some type of correlation between a well fed TROLL and consistent N/NW coastal winds.
