The winner was on a 4 line kite. I think it was a best 4 line kite same shape as the yarga, but no 5th line. After he won his heat he started wakeboarding.
Most contestants were on sle kites and a few 5th line c's.
Strapless surfboards and skim boards had trouble in the gusty conditions, but were amazing to watch!
I'm thinking about trying skim boarding and at some point the wake skate but it looks really tough.

I posted a video from the finals and some action from the committee boat during the start of races on www.sbckiteboard.com. The freestyle final between California's Jon Van Malson (North) and Spain's Alvaro Onieva (Best) was really fun to watch.
Today is the big air and more course racing. Should be really good.
