Anyone have some thoughts on kiteboarding wind at SPI mid to late March?

Thanks,
Eric

We've been to SPI in late March three times and it's always been good. Bring your whole quiver though as there can be a couple of light days and a couple of super windy days. Might also need a 3/2 full suit for wave sessions. But could also be warm enough to kite in board shorts and a rash guard.

Thanks Tony. Would mostly be looking for butter water for my young ones, though at the rate they are going, who knows?

March should be good but you will be fighting the spring break crowds.. Probably the later in March the better for avoiding that. April and May its a ghost town and cheap Thumb's Up

Plenty of butter water to be had, really good for beginners to advanced there. Like Phil says, be wary of the Texas spring break crowd. Prices shoot up and it can get crowded in the restaurants and hotels and be a real pain driving on and off the island. It doesn't affect the kiting though.

I took the kids twice when Portland schools had their spring break and it worked out that it was after the Texas spring break by a week and the place was quiet again. Avoid "Texas week" and "Holy week" and you're good.
