Just wanted to make a point of thanking the people that made this demo happen.

We brought the Limo and the Party, but the CGKA made the weekend happen.

Props to :
- Garrett for taking the lead role in organizing this event and getting all the vendors to attend.

- Jim for being Moses and making the mighty waters of the Columbia lower for the weekend just enough for us to have a Sandbar.

- The CGKA volunteers who came down to clean up the sandbar while the rest of us were fiddling around getting all the kite gear pumped up and in place.

- The Inept Crew/Slider Project for creating a park that drew some of the best pros in the world to our town, just to session with the locals.
(Especially Joby and Tekko for being the pit bosses and organizing the troops to move stuff).

- Last but not least, all the vendors for coming out and making this one of the best events we've ever seen at the Sandbar, and for your commitment to come back out next year even bigger and stronger (Tekko, Amery, Burton&the Scheibels, Ken L, Nick, Tybo, Jonny, Sol and last but not least Zack and Mark from Smith for the Limo). You guys are all great for coming and making this local event one of the biggest kite demos ever.

- Oh yeah, can't forget mentioning Tonia for bringing Lauren's hard hitting crew of Brides Maids to the River City for one of our biggest shotgun challenges in history. Hood River Girl Kick ASS!

Thanks from the 2nd Wind Crew!!

Ridiculously good times, all around. Thanks to everyone who made it possible and thanks for the demo kites, they were the only way I got to play in the honkin' huge swell.

The wind was solid and the 5, 7, and just few 9's were out. It was cool to see caution kites, North, Slingshot, LIquid force, Wind Wing, Freak Dog, Eclipse, and BEst.

Even though conditions were what they were people were having a good time flying all of the kites.

Amazing how the SLE/Flat kites are more or less the backbone of the industry right now. C kites are still there and will be forever, but the entry level kites are more or less FLAT SLE. The bridals have been shortened up on all the new kites.

When I win the lotto I'm going to buy a quiver from every vendor and then pay cash for the liquid force F-350 rail Monstor Truck for storage.

Really great event!

Did I miss any of the kite makers? Very Happy

Yes. ...Perhaps this will jog your memory;

You know what they call a Quarter Pounder with cheese in France?
Brett: No.
Jules: Tell 'em, Vincent.
Vincent: A Royale with cheese.
Jules: A Royale with cheese! You know why they call it that?
Brett: Because of the metric system?
Jules: Check out the big brain on Brett! You're a smart motherfucker. That's right. The metric system.

you forgot Naish which Mark was nice enough to let me take a spin on. Nice kites for sure. And Caution "kites" were there as well although it was clear from the looks I was getting from then when I had my son in tow, I wasn't going to be cool enough to try there kites.

Hola everybody!!!!! I must say, it was good to be home again! I love Hood and the weekends haven't been the same without the trips down there. It was great to see everyone. Nothing but good times.

As for Caution kites, I will say that EVERYONE is cool enough to ride them. The demo isn't over just because the demo day is. I reside on the bluff above Jetty Island (at the Caution house) and kites are available for day demos. You Hood guys are also welcome to demos. When we come down I will try and post on here and if you are interested in flying what I really believe to be one of the best kites ever made please post a reply and we can hook up. You will not be disappointed.

Until then, thanks to the HOOD and every individual that helped make such a wonderful weekend happen. You all are the BEST!

Speaking of Caution they are some cool cats. They have been "Keepin it Real" since 1998. Poul Schiebel was in town so I had him sign my old Redline 132. Nice guy.

Fantastic demo weekend. Many thanks to all the people involved to pull that off.[/img]

Brian your welcome. If anyone else missed a demo on a Naish kite please Pm me for a demo.

The Caution guys are very cool. Just way laid back. Once you start talking to them they are more than helpful.

And, yah, that Tonia gal. She sure is shy. Seemed like we had to always try so hard to get her up on stage and for her to say anything into the microphone........ Or, was it the other way around ?

Two thumbs up for the bridal shower crew who really added some flavor to the nights festivities, all the way to closing time at River City, and then all the way to closing time at Jacks Thumb's Up Thumb's Up
