Sun Jun 15, 08 12:52 pm favorite board for chop? |

Okay, so the knees aren't holding up as well as I'd like. And with all the high/fast water, there has been a lot more chop than butter and swell. So I'm looking for a board that could be more fun in the chop, with less leg pumping required.
What aspects do you look for in a board that rides well in chop? If I had to guess, I would say narrow (so it cuts through chop instead of planing over it) and maybe a heavier board (hold momentum as it cuts through chop, instead of letting the chop just throw the board up and down)?? But it would be great to hear what other people know or have experienced.
Also, if there is a particular board you like in chop, feel free to list (as long as you're respecting the "no brand v brand" rules).
Thanks,
Jonah |

| Ocean Rodeo Mako Wide. I sold my underground boards and bought a Mako wide and it is unbelievable in the chop. No face spray and I've never been pulled off my edge with this board. When I talked with Ocean Rodeo about the board they said they would send me a board to try and if I didn't like it to send it back for a full refund. I'm 175lbs and ride the board from 10-30 on two kites. |

The mako wide is definatly a good recommendation. There is super concave, making it an upwind machine. It rides toe side like a dream, for those epic slashes on the swell. It is comparable to a snowboard. So fun. People are also super excited about it at the ocean. _________________ get bolognied |

Slingshot's SX is chop fixer. I went back to the SX this year from the misfit for that specific reason.

| More rocker will ease the impact but could cause you to have to ride with a bit more power. |
