I am looking for spots to kiteboard for a long roadtrip we're going on. Anyone have recommendations for areas in the west? How safe is it to drive into Baja with two black labs? Does it stay cool enough along the coast so that they won't be too hot underneath an awning? What part of Baja would be the best, and where there would be a lot of other kiteboarders?

Any information is very appreciated.

I'd like to day-dream today of some warm, sunny, windy place to rip it up beause it is not so warm, sunny or dry right now in the PNW. Ill tell u what I know, but first how about some launch specifics of a spot on Maui. Is maui the most "Kite friendly/tollerant" island?

What areas of Baja, cali, AZ (Lake Mojave or Mead)?

I haven't kiteboarded on any of the other islands, as Maui has the most popular spot. I have heard that it is catching on at some of the other islands, though. If the Kona winds are blowing, there are some other spots around the island that you can ride, but for the most part, people stay at kitebeach near Kahaluhi. I am looking for any spots that would be condusive for a road trip from Portland through Tahoe, Sedona, Southern Cal, & Baja.

It also might be that we would skip that and go straight to the Florida Keys.

Does anyone know if there are good kite spots in that area?
