Was out at Sauvies yesterday, the flooding in the last few weeks has changed the beach as we know it. The beach is covered with huge logs and dead wood everywhere and the skiff (old boat) that has been there as long as I can remember is gone! I wanted to fly my kite just for something to do but it was high tide and with all the debris on the beach there was no place to rig.

I was pretty amazed and think a beach cleanup party would be most appropriate!

Anybody with a boat or seadoo that we could use to drag the logs into the river or pile, maybe we could get a burn permit for one day, any other Ideas?

Wow no more upside down boat eh? that kinda sucks...

My jetski is winterized right now, but I wouldn't mind commissioning it for some work. How big are the logs on the beach?

I wonder if the county does any kind of maintenance on the beach. All that sand didn't just show up on its own.

Another round of high tides will change things in no time. I wouldn't worry yet, winter tides are highest of the year, a really high tide could undo all your work or it could do it for you

Damn, that really does suck that the boat is gone... Sad

Current just wash it away? JP and I were talking about that, cuz it couldn't float anymore, right (because of the holes in it)?

Yo Mit, I've been thinking about a beach cleanup in the spring as well. Let’s do it (after mother nature does her part)!!

Yah, who knows what the lower river level will bring??

The old boat hull could have washed out to a depth perfect for slider height!! Just add a cross at the end built in the shape of a kicker!!

Could be grinding iron come July!

Bring your rock board... ~D
