Up and Down west wind 22-26 on Saturday, steady west wind 20-24 on Sunday, west 22-26 on Monday. NW wind strong along the coast.
A good progressive pattern will keep wind going in The Gorge and at coastal sites. Saturday, west wind 22-26 in the Central and Eastern Gorge but it will be a bit up and down. Sunday west wind 20-24 mainly in the Central Gorge. West wind on Monday in the 22-26 range in the Central Gorge. Coastal sites remain NW all three days ranging from the upper teens in the north to mid 20s at south coast sites.
Saturday:
A short wave trough is forecast to move through the region during the day. Behind this system we should see strong westerly gradients and good upper level NW flow. As the trough moves through the wind should be strong but also up and down. Central Gorge sites west 22-26 but up and down. Eastern sites west 22-6 with higher gusts, strongest in the late afternoon. NW wind increases along the coast. North Coast NW 17-21 with 21-25 at Manzanita. .NW wind 18-22 Central Coast. NW wind 22-26 South Coast. West swell 8 feet at 10 seconds.
Sunday:
Upper level flow becomes more northerly as the trough moves inland but westerly gradients hold in The Gorge. The Strongest Gorge wind should be in the Central Gorge in the 20-24 range. Coastal sites should be NW and strong with high pressure offshore and mostly sunny skies. North Coast NW 18-22 with 22-26 at Manzanita. NW wind 20-24 on the Central Coast. South Coast sites NW 23-27. NW swell 8 feet.
Monday:
High pressure offshore and upper level WNW flow will keep the west wind going. West wind in the Central Gorge in the 22-26 range. Eastern Gorge sites build to 21-25 in the evening. Coastal sites remain strong with NW wind 16-20 on the North Coast, NW wind 21-25 at Manzanita. NW wind 18-22 Central Coast and NW wind 22-26 on the South Coast. NW swell 5 feet.

| Think it is still shaping up to be good on Sun? The weather forecasts I use, NOAA primarily, are showing lighter winds. I think I will hit the coast up tomorrow, I'm hoping pulls through. |
