You should seek out Josh from Cleanline surf shop in Seaside. He is very good surfer and kiter. Im sure he will be able to give some advice and may even a board locally.

At $75 that directional board looks like a good deal... funny how things are coming full circle after everyone was ditching their directionals in favor of TT's, now we're going back to using directionals (for waves at least.) |

Any epoxy popout will work to put straps on. Just kind of figure out where you want to stand, mark it, route out a few holes, mix up some west system with microballoons and drop the inserts in, let dry, sand flush, put on the deckpads, screw in the straps and you are ready to go. It's that easy. www.surftech.com www.boardworks.com |

I surfed the shorebreak last year one time when they were towing. It was double overhead on the inside and 40 foot plus faces on the reef. The guys caught about 30-40 waves each. I was hoping it would happen too, but it will be right down to the wire. I figure they will extend the waiting period if it doesn't go off by the 15th. |

Those are some big waves. I may have to go check that out if it happens on the weekend. |

Good Evening -
We have had a busy weekend tracking the swell that is forecast to arrive this weekend and making final preparations for the contest. As we have seen many times before, the forecast has changed. What looked like 20’+ swell now looks like it might arrive in the 12-13’ range. The status of the contest remains in YELLOW as we track this event as well as 2 additional swells following closely behind. Luckily, we have an excellent weather pattern developing over Oregon for the weekend and into next week. Our goal is to hold this contest in the best possible conditions, and we are aiming at one of these swells. Only time will tell exactly what direction these storms will take and how large each swell will be when it hits. Another update will be sent out mid week as things develop.
For up to the minute information on the contest and real time surf forecasts, check the website at www.actionsportsnw.com. Thanks again for the interest – we look forward to seeing everyone there.
