Amazing article! Thanks for the post.
The entire hillside on hwy 26 with all the trees snapped in half and completely stripped of their branches amazes me every time I drive by it.

Onad, thanks for posting this. Dec. 2 was my 40th birthday. Of course I prayed to the Wind Gods for wind on my birthday, but maybe I prayed a little too hard!
We partied till 2 the night before so needless to say, the next day, and despite the warnings, I did not feel like packing up and heading inland.
Waking up on the 3rd, the wind was still howling. We found out all roads out were closed and power and phones were out indefinately. Mrs. Slither was not happy!
To escape her wrath, I grabbed my camera and headed out into the storm where I met up with Barfly. You can see a couple clips of our patrol at the beginning of LAUNCH WAR SMACKDOWN. The footage doesn't adequately capture what we saw.

That's a BIG 40!!! 
Now we just have to figure out how to harness that potent praying power to bring steady 12m North Winds all summer??
Perhaps we could Sacrifice the TROLL to appease the Wind Gods??
