Heading to La Ventana in Late January

We are looking for someone to caravan with thru Baja. Been hearing bad stories about assaults and guns. Anyone hear dabout any problems in Baja?

No Problemo on the drive amigio. Contact Discover Baja in San Diego and try to get a prepaid visa. Roll through the border and get stamped early as possible. Then make for Catavina, Rosartito or Guerro Negro and you will be golden. Drive in Northern Baja only during daylight. Miliary checkpoints give only a cursory look to southbound traffic. We encountrered 5 of them...

We are headed down either tomorrow or the next day and are also looking to caravan. When do you leave Eric? We feel the same way and are doing everything to ensure that our car is in perfect running condition and hopefully we can meet some RVers at the border who are headed south a ways.
