Examples given for port tack. Get board speed but don't edge. Send the kite to 11:30. Lower your butt/center of gravity, pull in the bar hard and jump. Keep holding in the bar or else you'll drop like a rock. When you're ready to land let the bar out slightly then just before you hit the water again pull the bar in and your landing will be buttery smooth. If you can time this off a peice of chop or a wave you'll get some serious height. I've found I can get more height on a conventional kite since you're actually bringing the kite past 12:00 twice when you jump. Since you don't do that on a bow you don't get the height but you do get the hangtime. |
