Wind was good today.
I was on the water from about 3:00 to almost 5:00 on my 7m.
It was pretty gusty, but better up by the ponds.

We really could use a better sensor out there.

Drove out on 14, no wind at Washougal or Cottonwood. kep going to St Cloud and had excellent session on 9m Waroo 2:30 - 4 until my bridle broke Crying or Very sad Got to practise self-rescue - think i was nearly planing on a broad reach back to shore Laughing Was really suprised and happy how fast i got in from about 1/3 rd of way to OR side. Glad i was dressed for being in the water not the sunshine. Walking back along the rocky foreshore sucked for my feet. Wind back past Cape Horn and RR looked to have dropped a lot on the drive home.

It was awesome today. Was out on a 9m x-bow and overpowered but it was doable. Kited from 12:00-4:00 and heard it should be good tomorrow!

Dude, I rode HR on Sunday and didn't bring my 4/3, so I wore my winter 6/5/4...way, way too hot!!!, plus I wore my booties and didn't really need those either....It was in the 60's and sunny and 12m wind.

The 4/3 is still the one, I think, when its sunny out.

How was Padre...? Pics?

Its getting cold dude!

http://www.fpc.org/river/tempgraphs/NETtempgraph.aspx

When its close to 50 plan on hypothermia setting in after 20 minutes or so in the water without adequate protection. Still been some huge temp swings, from high 30's all the way up to almost 70 the other day. I wouldn't screw around in a shorty though.

Did you get your drysuit yet?

Rooster was real nice today before the switch. Sweetly powered 12m with butter flat everywhere. I had a long soak figuring out how to relaunch a new kite and had no problem with cold. No booties either.

Hope we get some more! Cool

I think 9-1:30 was the sailable window and I caught the last hour and a half of it. It was still big-kiteable when I left but everyone had rigged their 12's. When the Easterlies start dropping off, the sensor can actually switch to west or north while it's still sailable (east) up in the channel. It was almost glassy at the viewpoint driving in, but the channel was going nicely.

Thanks again to Home Valley Jim for the relaunch tip!

Seems like my last 10 visits to RR have been nookers. It was so nice to get some nice wind and such nice flat water - finally. Thumb's Up

P.S. Troll, I saw your post before someone wacked it and no, there was no big hairy anythings to be inspired by. Rolling Eyes

Cool, thanks guys! As far as SPI, got one day of 11m, and that's pretty much it... so not much as far as actual kiting pics. Heard the wind was great for a week, up until I got there, then yesterday was supposed to be good too. Figures.

And I haven't got my suit yet either... shiet!

Sounds like a couple of my fall trips to SPI. Fall can be fickle! At least it was warm right?
