So I've never been here before, but the airport is TINY! Just got in, only to find out that my kites and main suitcase didn't make it on my flight. They are, however, supposed to be on the next one which arrives at 8:40PM.

P.S. - The lady in PDX at the ticket counter was like, "Are you sure it's just golf clubs... They're normally not this big or heavy..." I was like yeah, that's it. My 3 REVs (unbagged), Lunacy, harness, and 1 bar came to 48lbs in my SS golf bag!

Here are some cool pics of the airport! Laughing

you're lucky they didn't go
on to New Orleans.

I ran to the end of the jet way
in Houston just to see the captain
go by as he was backing up the
plane. they pulled back up and let
me on. Gotta luv Southwest!

But my gear never got off the
other plane.

I think they turn off the lights
in HRL after 11:00. I once had
to wait with a whole flight load
of people for someone to unlock
the door so we could get to
the lobby and baggage claim.

have fun

Last year, when flights got fouled up in Houston, I spent the night, sleeping on the very bench that you have your laptop on. Very comfy! I give it 4 stars. The next morning, I took a taxi up to the Harlingen airport to get my luggage and car.

Thanks for the pictures.

Today, the wind rocked....my favorite..NW at 20 all day...lots of kiters going to bed early, tonight.

I get that with the NSI Pro Golf Deciever Bag every now and then - the key is to mumble Tiger Woods, Pings, PGA, Bushwood Country Club...

Get your toys back and Have a great trip.

Everything's good! Thanks everyone! We're staying at the Travel Lodge, like 13 doors down from Amery and Tony (they're sleeping together)! I'll get some pics though...

P.S. - Don't call the police here, "dude". Ryan said it to one of them ~30 mins ago when they had us all "pulled over" outside of the bar, and he went off on him. Apparently you can't stand around outside after 2:15... lol

Must do list:
Padre Island Brew Pub- Try the Octoberfest and one of their Gulf Shrimp Wraps.
We just got back from SPI. 7 windy days out of 9. But we always followed wind God protocols. Sat in same section, same waitress, Oktoberfest, No Shaving, No Baths, Fill the rental car with sand. Only skunk day was the day after the brew pub was closed for the night, and our last day when a "blue norther" hit and I didn't bring my 7M.

Welcome to Texas where everyone has something to prove, especially the Cops. I'm from Texas so I can say this!

Actually, this happen to me once when I was about 17 in Austin. Cop almost assaulted me for calling him Dude repeatedly out of habit. Then again when I was 16 at a bowling alley because I was sitting in the food court without buying food. Then again when I was 12 for playing in the yard of a vacant house, said I was breaking and entering.

The most ironic thing is the the guy I never got along with in High School became a cop. I saw him at a bar years later and he was saying how he couldn't believe they gave him a badge. Neither can I.

Make sure you hit Naturally's

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=3109+Padre+Blvd,+South+Padre+Island,+TX+78597,+USA&sa=X&oi=map&ct=title

Best sandwiches in the world! They especially taste great after you've been on a steady diet of other Texas cusine (Whattaburger, Denny's, Beefeaters Steak House)

Actually if you like Sushi there is a pretty kick ass sushi restraunt at the south end of the island by the surf shop. Also South Padre Island Brewing is a good spot for a burger or pizza (and beer!)

Sorry, nothing special. The wind was ultra-light today (guys were out on 20m Waroos, 14m Turbos, and REV 13s), so we didn't get a whole lot... And to top that, the forecast looks horrible for the next two days too. Sad
