Had a nice weekend on the OR-COAST.

Sat. was chunky in the a.m. , but the afternoon was sweet!!

Tekko: props to the Havocs controlling the beach..
-too bad I never took one...(next time) Very Happy

Nice waves and wind in the afternoon...(7m and surfboard!!)

and on Sun...., got to the ponds a little late...but it still performed.. 12m wind like a fan!!

Saturday: For real…Manzo was sick…The first half of the day was lame – waiting for wind towards the north end of the beach….We moved further south and Manzo delivered. Very Happy

The winds were strong and I was lit on Chansons 11m 07 Waroo…I love my slingshot fuels but I got to admit, the bows are way too sweet…Waroos or Revs, Sorry Tucker, I don’t discriminate Wink

. The Rev is a nice weapon….But for the price (lets be realistic), you just can not go wrong with a waroo…Durability – yeah it’s gonna suck with any kite if you keep dive bombing it over 100 times…As far as the coast, holly sh** batman….. Shocked

I think this place is where boys learn to be men…Strong winds + Big waves = Heaven…I don’t mean to offend anyone but kiting in the river is a walk in the park compared to kiting in the surf…Still love the gorge and I always will.... Wink

I admit, this is my first real year out in the ocean….There is some sort of adrenaline rush you get when you ride past those small waves and blast threw the outer breaks, into the dark waters where the sharks hang out, this is also where the water starts to turn dark cuase it looks like it's 2 miles deep Shocked

… And I swear some of those swells reach higher than my house…And if you fu** up, just pray your not allergic to salt water….For those who haven’t hit the coast – do it…! It’s a whole different experience…
Chanson, Mixwell and I camped at some place a few miles south before entering seaside…Pretty cool last minute spot but the lady at the counter (when you check in) was a biatch to us…I don’t think you’ll be able to camp there if you walk up looking like your under 21….Bring your own wood – the wood they sell sucks.
Sunday: Drove to the ponds via access on the beach – towards the shipwreck. P.S. don’t be a kook and drive your 2-wheel drive euro van on the sand cause it will get stuck. We pulled some guy out – stuck in the sand when the tide was coming up. So that was our good deed….By the way, does anyone know what the hell that dead thing is on the beach. Question

..I think it's like some sort of dead seal or a small whale...What ever it was, the seagulls were not starving....Got to the ponds about 12:30….I think we got there a little late for the 9-12 meter winds, but we still killed it on our 15’s for several hours….
If you ever go to the ponds, check the tides….This place is influenced by the tides…Unless you like kiting in channels. The wind here blows like a fan on East Wind days…Overall, pretty cool spot – pretty cool weekend… Cool
