First off thanks to anyone that's responded to my waves of questions regarding your area in the past couple months.. getting a little too excited about my trip there.. wind here has been DEAD for the last 2 months.. guys are going out and trying to kite in between storm fronts .. bragging about the 20 minutes they got on the water after waiting 3 hours in the car for the rain to stop.. oh well.. in Oct thu May when we are kiting in shorts and t-shirts I hope everyone can come out here to enjoy the shark-dodging fun.

Smile

There are a couple new Yargas in town, but no wind to demo.. I am hoping to get a spin on this while I am there and have some connections to do so..

but..

I am hearing about the REV and getting excited..

Any info on how I might be able to get setup with a demo of a REV in mid August (13th thru 24th)?

Any help would be appreciated!

Anyone there ride skywalker boards? I don't see them in any of the photos I see posted. I'll be bringing a 131 pro w/ me if anyone wants to take it for a spin. Lots of flex and very very lightweight. Truly eats up chop like I cannot explain.

Thanks again.. great forum here.

Bryan

Confused

Hi,

The 2 week old Cabrinha Crossbow 3 is on the beach in Hood River. Demos are available by contacting Bea at Big Winds 541 386-6086. So far at least 2 people have come in after riding it here in The Gorge and said “those were the biggest jumps of my life”. Ride it for yourself.

Also, if you are looking to demo the specialized light wind kite, Contra 3, first pray for light wind (no, on second thought don’t do that). Anyways, the Contra 3, Omega, and Switchblade are all available. Call Bea and check out www.cabrinhakites.com

Sorry guys.

But i have been living in the Gorge for over 20 years and summer starts late in the gorge. I believe Middle of June is the start, Middle of August is mid summer and the end is Oct 31 in most cases. Then fall starts and Winter begins in January.

I'm about as local as it gets with out being a total kuk!

GOOD NEWS Exclamation

I have a quiver of REVS that i will be able to demo when i come back from CALI>SICK!

I'll be back mid August. Hit me up or stop by HQ anytime.

Cheers

I think there may be a few North Pacific Kitesurfboards to try around here....

We can't demo kites due to liability and safety issues, but we have a pretty healthy demo board fleet.
LF - Recoil 133 and 136
LF - Mission 138 and 144
LF - Surfboard 6'
SS - Fuse 149
SS - Misfit 146
Nobile - 555 130
Nobile - Skimboard
Triangle - Skimboard

I have a 5'6" Fish which can be riden with or with out straps or fin. Extremely floaty, loose board, can be ridden as a regular Fish and is soft rails and indestructable (for the most part)

This is always available for Demos at the spit or ocean beaches (the next few weeks). PM me if interested.

Hopefully, have a full line of the boards up by end of summer.

can you tell me how the fish works for surfing vs kite surfing? I've always wondered about that style board, but never gotten on one.

The fish shape is typically a wider short board, for the longboarder going short. At least that is the path I am taking. It has a swallow tail, fairly deep. And typically 2 fins. This model has one main center fin and side cuts on the rear rails that act as fins and allow to ride with out the center fin. Very fast and turns on a dime.

It is ggood for kiting, but you may find it hard to ride toeside due to the width. It also turns very fast and can out run the kite if I let it. The volume allows for a smaller kite or just being out on a light day.

I'm going to be hitting the coast here soon and wouldn't mind hitting PC. Let me know when in HR, I'll let you know when heading to North Central.

I would like to have more people ride it and give their opinions.

Right smack in the center of downtown Hood River.
210 Oak St.
Take the HR exit, turn right into town on 2nd St, turn rt at the stop sign onto Oak St and we are the 5th shop on your right hand side. (there is usually a kayak rack out front of the shop and front windows with Slingshot and Liquid Force stickers on them).
