Any thoughts or info on the different kiting certifications / instructor certification programs? Worth getting? One recognized more than the other? I've read somewhere that you can't kite certain locations without a certification of some sort.
Thanks in advance!

I heard the Method certification program was pretty solid, without as much overhead as some of the others.
The only place I've heard of requiring certification is Crandon in Miami. |

PASA in the USA. IKO everywhere else.
a IKO rider cert is cool you can get insurance and rent gear when on vacation.
I like the IKO instruction program better, the BS with dealing with IKO is a small drag at times. |

Like h20kiter said it's mainly an issue of location. Typically the certifications are used for insurance purposes (whether it's for teaching, renting gear, etc.). Worldwide IKO is definitely the way to go, but a lot of schools in the US want their instructors to be PASA certified since that's who they get their insurance from. Figure out where you might wanna teach and find out what certification (if any) schools around there require. |
