If you have a HRWS Bridge BreezeBy pass you may have seen the survey they sent out asking for feedback into their new strategic plan. If you are a regular victim, er, user of port facilities, I encourage you to take it.
My feedback was basically to focus on port operations and act like an actual port authority and not a regional economic development arm or industrial landlord - the convention center already proved their ineptness at that. Why they keep trying to expand their scope outside of the Marina, airport, and event site and hook is beyond me.
Lest you not be aware of the waterfront history here, the port was trying to help develop condos on what is now the HR Waterfront Park, but now they are the beneficiaries/managers of the parking lot there and the (leases for the) waterfront businesses it attracts tourists to. (The citizenry actually had to fight the port pretty hard and then self-fund the development and ongoing maintenance of the park itself).
Anyway, rant over... please let them know your thoughts! |

| If they don't do something about the milfoil spreading east from Wells then foiling will be over anywhere along the port. Probably great fertilizer coming out of the poo plant. |

| Sounds like a more useful focus than competing with the other local economic development agencies. |
