Seriously tho, maybe a medical? I can only guess they'd otherwise need some kind of permitting or clearance from the Army Corps or some other red tape org(s) to make that a regular stop... let alone the obvious observation that only nutcases hang out on a hot and windy pile of rocks (next to a highway and train tracks, as my non-kiting wife regularly reminds me on proposed overnighters).

my mom (80) wanted to do that cruise, and i told her no. i can't imagine a stop like that for an elderly person.
