have you guys been playing with this new wind tool? http://www.ikitesurf.com/windandwhere.iws?regionID=216&Isection=Gradient+Animation

i like it much more than windbow. hopefully the pressure forecasts are accurate. windbow is weird because it's not clear they take the distances into account--it's pressure difference between two spots, not really the gradient. this one gives you the real gradient across every 8 miles. it also looks better and is more intuitive.

the weekend forecast looks like it's in much better shape now. thoughts?

Sunday will probably be good, I think Saturday is going to be a transitional day. Coastal forecast for both days looks questionable.

So, way out at Arlington will probably work Saturday due to the current, but Sunday I think Lyle is probably going to be the call. If you're willing to head out further east, Arlington will be good on Sunday for sure.

The coast looks like a typical winter setup, South wind, 10-15 with gusts to 20. This usually means rain, but will probably be balmy and decently warm. Sunday on the coast could be good if you can find a beach without rain.

I'll update this thread tomorrow morning on what I think will happen. Not that I'm a meteorologist, but until George McLean comes back (next week hopefully) I will pretend to be one!

Lyle sucks. there is this tall blond kid with a rabid pitbull, I think he called it scriff? or something. but I wouldn't recommend it due to the locals getting all agro, went to the Local mercentile in my wetsuit and got laughed at. Place just sucks.

Uh, ok, dogs are scary. What's the problem there, the dude is chasing people off with a dog?

So, yea, I think what I said previously will still be the call.
