More exotic thoughts for your workday - having difficulty focusing for some reason.
High Points - Three days at Punta Allen - 30 miles of beach and hour and half drive to the next kiters at Tulum
Low Points - Watching my 12m Waroo explode on the beach while rigging it on day one and 30 miles of beach to the next kiter.
High Points - Wind gods reward my one kite quiver (7m) with 20knt winds - thank you wind gods!

Did you drive all the way from OR - how long did you spend down there - that sounds like an adventure - the road from Tulum to PA has nearly been tamed from the car eating, missle testing area of just two years ago - we had fun pushing the limits of a shockless Dodge Durango rental with 80K in dog years.

Nice one G-Maink!
I don't know where this is.
What caused the 12M to explode?

We took a 7 month kite trip to the east coast and around the Gulf back in 02 to Belize and up the west coast of Mexico.
We spoke with one guy pulling an Airstream with a small pick-up and said he made it from Brownsville to Playa Del Carmen in 4 days
took us a couple months
we gave up after about 20 miles the road seemed to be getting worse
We would like to try back to the X-calak area we heard it is nice

Tulum is just over an hour south of Cancun, Punta Allen is another hour or hour and half down the road.
Not sure what blew it up - bad juju I guess - pump it up for a dawn patrol session (the wind would kick first thing in the morning and sunset almost every day) so the beach wasn't hot yet - I'm laying out my lines and KAAPOWIE!!!!!!!!! Leading edge and bladder splodes.

Sadly Kara revoked my camera privileges - the spot we were hangin at Cabanas Copal had some awesome "wildlife" viewing.

Lizards, crocs, scorpions and exploding waroos!!!! Sounds dangerous Gmaster. Your previous experience no doubt saved you from these frighteners... and bouts with Revenge. If there was anyone I'd want on my trip it would be the

Mine goes to 11! Boom.
6 to 7 lbs on the slingshot pump - strange to have two blow in three weeks - got 9 hard months on the 7m and 6 (not used that much)months on the 12m - sucky.

yeah 06 waroos were a lot of fun but you really gotta watch that LE seam. The new 07 hotness with the webbing built into the seam is a much better build.

I see your leading edge is black. How hot was the beach sand, sun? I wonder if the heat added to the pressure.

Have seen kites heat up before - but this was 7AM - still relatively cool out - even stomped around looking for any hidden goodies - glass, hyperdermic needles, busted crack pipes, sea shells... nothing.

Did it bust on the seam?
Maybe it just sucks, buy a kite from a real brand next time!

This one did bust on the seam - the last one just shredded - was thinking those same thoughts but I'll probably end up throwing $200 bucks to airtime and see if I can get six more months out of it - or just pull out my 2004 Fuels that fly just fine and refuse to die.
