I’ve got a friend going down the Baja.
He’ll be crossing over the border in about a week to San Felipe.
He would love company for the adventure. PM me
Also organizing another caravan for early Dec. |

I have put this out there on this board before, and it was vaguely unpopular, but I still believe it to be true.
Caravaning in a group I feel offers a larger target for potential car jackers. The recent story of the two Toyotas being carjacked on HWY 5 I believe is another testament to this. I have two friends that were caravaning on HWY 1 that were also carjacked. There are other examples of this as well.
Although I think it can give some a feeling of security, when I travel to Baja with others, we stay a good distance apart, and communicate with hand held radios. This is the best of both worlds. You have someone close by if you need help, etc., but you don't appear to be a large easier "two for one" target for potential car jackers.
As always, YMMV, but this is my two cents. |
