I'm in the process of booking a trip to Brazil this fall. I'm planning on heading to Prea beach just north of Fortaleza. Has anyone been or heard anything about this area? They guarantee wind or your night is payed for but I am clueless about the area and would love any input. Thanks! |

man they have to pay me to leave oregon between may and sept.
dan you might want to think late oct early nov. supposedly very windy in brazil then and you will not be missing much here.
the bestkiteboarding forum has always has brazil q+a threads you might want to ask over there.
either way please go and tell us how good it is + pictures and everything. _________________ If you feel sleepy you need to be driving faster. |

Thanks for the info, I teach in the beginning of Sept so August is the best time for me. They guarantee wind or your stay that night is free. I can live with that. |

You will be amazed at how great the kiting is in the area. Plan on doing downwinders on the coast and getting rides back by dune buggy or 4wd truck. There are some great little places to eat on the beach and you have to check out Jeri for a night or two if you can...Jeri is way fun, good bars and restaurants and a good place to get supplies if you need stuff. I spent 2 weeks in from Fortaleza to Jeri in November of this past year and I will be going back there around the same time next year. You will have fun! _________________ Lance

Prea can be to windy and very choppy. The Cumbuco to Paracuru and Mundau areas provide you with all the conditions and it blew 24/7 when I was there. Jeri is definately a cool place, 6 hours from Cumbuco. |

Got tickets and am stoked. Question, how have any of you that have traveled there obtained a visa. The closest consulate to me is in California and they don't do mail in visas. Any info would be greatly appreciated. PM me if you want. |

Is any of that area dangerous as a tourist?? Any ways we can keep danny and spouse safe . Like no walking on the beach at night??
Protect yourself when paying for sex with the locals.
Or am I thinking of other places. |

Perfect, you will have a great time. August is a great month to go - there's wind everyday but make sure you get to Jeri as Lance said, there's so much to see and do at night. Make sure you do the downwinder past Prea down to Prea, it's awesome, and downwind right to the dune with buggy support! _________________ kite adventures

If anyone knows people that are heading that way in mid august I'm trying to share the ride from Fortaleza to prea/jeri. It's spendy |
