I used to fly that aircraft. It's one of the baby Airbuses... Anyway, the video on the ground is definitely doctored. The pilot should have gone around by the way. He was not stabilized, obviously.
Looks like there was a good crosswind and he screwed up the transition from load demand to direct control. The way the Airbus fly by wire works is that above 100 feet the computer looks at pilot input and then decides how to implement that input. As you descend below 100 feet, control transitions to the flight control surfaces responding directly to pilot input. Normally, the transition is fairly transparent to the pilot. In a stiff crosswind you can get problems like this if you don't keep the transition in mind. Also, it could have been both pilots making control inputs. The side sticks are not interconnected, so the input from each is sent to the computer.

Ya doctored for sure. If it was comming down that fast on the front landing gear it would have been destroyed |
