Does anyone know if there are estimated dates for the Blowout this year? Is it happening? By far one of the most fun kiting events to do!
Thanks,
Doogie

Hey Doogie

The Blowout has officially been postponed and will be rescheduled for next year, along with the rest of the Bridge of the Gods kite comp.

That being said.....after doing a solo wingfoil session up to Viento and back last night, my thoughts kept wondering, would it be a worthwhile idea to see if any like minded, low iq, danger seeking bretheren might be intererested in doing an unofficial, or "Practice" Blowout run sometime this summer?

I've also had some discussions with foiling friends about doing another upwinder/downwinder from Event Site to Stevenson, aka the "Suck and Blow Out".

I think I check all your boxes Pepi. Ever since I started foiling I’ve been thinking about an upwinder to Stevenson. I also check the low iq and danger(excitement) seeking parts Smile … would we do the downwinder afterwards?

Let’s set a tentative day/week to do it.

Uhm.....T, I'm gonna need at least a 30min head start on you if you bring your fancy foiling kites.
I passed you going up to Viento as you were coming down wind, and you were coming in hot and fast as hell straight down wind.

Hah! Do we need a handicap rating system for foiling? Smile

Can’t unsee that, though I wish I could. My kid will be leaving for college in a couple months, but those blowouts still come to me in my dreams sometimes…
