TODAY...PARTLY SUNNY BECOMING MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF SPRINKLES IN THE AFTERNOON. HIGHS 60 TO 65. CASCADE LOCKS WESTWARD...EAST WIND 5 TO 10 MPH SHIFTING TO THE WEST 10 TO 15 MPH IN THE AFTERNOON. NEAR HOOD RIVER...WEST WIND 5 TO 10 MPH INCREASING TO 15 TO 25 MPH IN THE AFTERNOON.

Also, reminder.

If the water comes up a bit, keep a wary eye open for drifting debris or kite hungry tree limbs.
Those trees are definitely dead, but they're probably pretty hungry to eat that first kite of the year.

Been playing around and here is a MM5 tool.

defaults are 20 frames on 3 hr interval.

MM5 forecasts are updated daily.

looking better. do you think this translates to a nuker out east?

Saturday: Rain. Highs 50 to 60. West wind 5 to 15 mph west wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 15 to 25 mph with gusts 35 mph east of hood river.

Sunday: Showers...breezy. Highs 45 to 50. Cascade locks westward.. West wind 5 to 15 mph...gusts to 30 mph in the afternoon. Near hood river...west wind 15 mph increasing to 25 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph in the afternoon.

so far so good! lots of fun today until one of my front lines broke when I looped the kite while underwater (oops.)

still good to be out, it feels warmer every time...

Just bought a new wetsuit, I guess the gorge would be the best place to put it to the test.

We're hitting the coast, little rain never bothered me. Probably going to shoot for the down-winder I was talking about in the other thread from Shipwreck to Sunset.
