The water's been rising since about 5:00 p.m Friday evening...
If my lower back wasn't telling me not-to, I'd be tempted to put my chest waders on and walk-out to assist the high water move-along some of the wood debris from the spit.

I may settle for a wader-enhanced investigative tour and file a report here later this weekend. If we could move-along some of the debris at some point, I think we'd have a safer area on the north side of the spit.

Here's a shot from the gorge.net cam this a.m. Even though you can't see the wood debris in the photo, the sandbar is still sportin' mega-wood:

Not a bad idea! If I had waders or a drysuit I'd hit it, I don't think I'd last long in my 4/3 though.

Be careful of those ledges and currents in your waders!

Please let nature take it's course.

a 1000 lb log in just a little current
can be deadly.

Good point regarding them biggins and the ledges. I'll stay clear. I don't plan to attempt to move much of anything at this point; just take a close look.

The big floaters are bobbin'-around and appear likely to be whisked away in just a little more current and higher water. I think Hein's approach is likely the best. Let's just see what happens in the next few weeks.

Here's my sandbar wood pictorial:

some one go out there and chain them together. We'll have a complete floating dock by this time next year. Smile
