You can save them somewhere online and then use the url for where it resides. When I post, I use my website for storage since I have unlimited hosting. I would suggest Jpegs as they are the most easily viewed format.
just put the url in the text field and highlight then hit the Img button and it will interpret it as an image source location.
Here's an example
I right click on the upper left corner logo and click on properties. Highlight and copy the url (http://www.nwkite.com/images/nwkite_small.gif)
Then I paste it into the text and then highlight it again and then hit the Img button. It then pulls the image from that url. This method allows you to post larger format pictures, but you should still maintain the size so they show up and are easy to view.
I hope this helps,

I just downsized them and uploaded them right from my computer. I save the resized files to Desktop for easy access. If you preview your post, I think it tells you if it will be viewed online or what size is required to view online.

Here are two free programs that really help. Both of them allow you to right click the picture in the Browse window to allow easy resizing. The windows powertoy is simpler and faster. The other does more.
http://www.vso-software.fr/products/image_resizer/image_resizer.php
Windows Powertoys. Download the image resizer.
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx
With either of these click on "Browse" in the "add an attachment" section. find the picture you want to add. Right click on it. select "Resize" or something similar from the pop up menu. resize to 640 x 480. Scroll down in the window. There is now a copy of the original picture at the end of that window. select it and click on "Add Attachment"

Good advice! Sorry didn't see this thread till just now, let me know if there are any more questions. 800x600 is the maximum resolution and 256kb is the maximum file size.
Nak found a good tool for you... Another good tool for resizing and doing photoshop type operations is paint.net:
http://www.getpaint.net/download.html
It does about 75% of the useful features from Photoshop, and its being upgraded all the time with new features.... and its free!
