Can anyone give a guess on this weekend? I am lost without Temira. Wink I checked wind alert yesterday and showed do able but yet the water looked flat from the webcams. I drive from Bend so a stretch to get shut down. Thanks for any input

Maybe. Extended iKitesurf forecast looks not so good.

Temira returns tonight. Stay tuned.

Simple formula I use, that works pretty well for WEST wind:

1. Go here: http://www.usairnet.com/cgi-bin/launch/code.cgi?sta=KDLS&model=avn&state=OR&Submit=Change+Location

Site gives you aviation predicted weather/temp/could cover/wind

If cloudy in TD, add 10mph to Rufus, and subtract 10 mph from HR

If sunny in TD and sunny in HR, add 10 mph to HR and subtract 10 from Rufus

If sunny in TD, and cloudy in HR, subtract 10 from HR and add 0 mph to Rufus

After 40 years as a pilot depending on forecasts, I decided Mother Nature is a fickle chickadee! Low pressures are the most difficult to forecast, they can turn on a dime and dump rain or snow which wasn't in the forecast. Today was a perfect case. All forecast said easterlies by midmorning. I usually use window forecasting. I look out and see whitecaps at 9am and know it will never happen. I foiled until 2 pm on westerlies today, but stayed close to shore for the imminent change to easterlies. At 5 pm still westerlies 11-15. Pack your bags for the Gorge westerlies on Saturday. Stevenson for the easterlies tomorrow! Get it!

If I lived in Bend my window wouldn’t work. I use ikite, Temira, and windfinder.
