Anyone know if Gary Swanson is still around town? I know he often heads south this time of year.

I have a board that needs repair and want to use him....if he is still around.

My bet is Gary is too busy with his regular job to repair boards. At least he was not taking on side work this mid summer when I needed a fifth fin box installed in my quad.

1. Perhaps Art at Northpacific has a partner who will repair your board.
2. Check with Brian Hiend at Open Ocean, Lyle.

I spoke with Art yesterday and reached out to both Gary and Brian with no response yet. Any other skilled board repair folks around that I could reach out to?

Sounds like we are loosing quite a bit of knowledge with Brian and Gary hanging it up. Art doesn't do much in the way of board repair.

Bummer, I still remember the first Cascade windsurf board I rode in the early 90's at Viento. Gary has been doing it for a while!

Give Pierre a try for board repairs.

He did a great job on my SUP that had a cracked rail.

His phone number and contact information is at Big Winds.

Ride on!

I used Willy from Low Tide Ding Repair. His work was awesome, fast, affordable. A few of my friends went there after me and also got their boards fixed up and were excited about it as well.

Here's his instagram link which has additional contact info in it:

Always wondered about this. You probably don't recall rescuing me around 1992 off of Honeybuns Maui.

Ha, that was you!!! Definitely remember the rescue...

I also was rescued a lot on that trip.. I broke three masts one day and ended up with a 5.0 sail with lots of holes in the leading edge mast sleeve... What a fun trip... and the poor rescue guys on the jet ski got to know my first name that day.... "BAM"...

I second the recommendation for the crazy Frenchman (Pierre). He's fixed delams and glassed boxes for me in years past, does stellar work.

Pierre prefers to be contacted, pick up, drop off, and charge customers via big winds. His work is phenomenal.

bfb38 - yes I would like to contact him, as you suggest, he 'prefers to be contacted' before he starts any work.

Does anyone have is phone or email?
