Be careful, prodigious quantities of debris in the water from the 9 inches of rain on Mt Hood! _________________ moondog |

Any first hand account as to how much of that debris is floating around at Rooster? I'm really hoping to get some of those tasty Easties. I know Hood River was totally blown out a lot of a debris but I wonder how much of that makes it all the way downriver, especially below Bonneville Dam. |

I’m also looking at hitting rooster tomorrow. By then the water seemingly should be down a little from where it was correct? I guess I’m wondering if there should still be a little beach to launch. Hard to tell from the cam |

One can always brave the Viet-Schlong-a-dong trail and head east for the lagoon. At the lagoon there is a wide open area, no willow bushes for VS to hide in or snag/catch your lines, and a high point of sand to rig, lay out one's lines and to launch from. The nude volleyball area might work too as that is a lot closer (less east) than the lagoon.
If you have someone else with you, one should easily be able to rig, launch, and land near the pier/wooden jetty (within RR cam view). Probably best to do all that activity downwind of the pier/wooden jetty unless a hundred yards or more upwind of the pier/wooden jetty.
Send it and have fun! |

Rooster is at 40. Was wondering if it's better to go to Stevenson instead, and how the launch works with Easterling there.
See you out there. |

Stevie launch is great for east and west winds.
Please ask for someone to explain the launch and land procedures to be explained to you if you're not 100% familiar with the process. It's a unique process but works well. Suggest you wear booties. |

Anyone else going to Stevenson today? I'm hoping some of the debris has cleared out, HR was a mess yesterday. |

yeah, I just saw two windsurfers out on the water on the cam. I have not seen one kiter out.
There is some beach and the waves look at times to have some liquid smoke upon them. |

for those considering the downwinder adventures at rooster, just so you're aware, even though dalton exit is open you may find it difficult to find an eastbound exit to take to get you there from rooster. all exits are blocked and won't allow you to turnaround. _________________ www.jimstringfellow.com |
