SPI - April dets

who's got the low down on a potential SPI adventure the second week of April? It's stacing up to be more of a bachelor party with kiting leading the way. obvioulsy we miss the fine dandies of spring break but i'm sure there's more than enough to get in trouble with....esepecially with this many dudes.

we're looking or some 411. best wind direction on north flats and south flats, kite size to bring, shortie or rash guards, 1 week or a couple of days. pubs, cluce, and the likes. give us the low down.

ayone got a house to rent that they would recommend? Shocked

We stayed here last April, it worked for us and the price was right. It's a block from the Wana Wana bar which is where a lot of people get out from Jetty downwinders in the SE. It's also right around the corner from South PAdre Island Kiteboarding.

ONce you get there it's pretty straight forward...if it's light SE's then you gotta go to Holly about 1/2 hour. Otherwise stay on the island and choose between the lagoon flats and the gulf side which can sport decent waves.

Downwinders are about as long as you want to make them on the gulf side! Enjoy!

SPI in april is good-thats right, the springbreakers are gone, but that is also good: nothing to distract from the kiting.

my favorite place to stay on the islandis the la quinta, which is the northern-most lodging on the island, across from the convention center and the south flats. if you book a room high up on the north side of the hotel you can see when there are kites up on both the north and south flats. and check this: for $59 a night (maybe $69 this year) you get a room with two beds, free breakfast and get this-two free beers at happyhour! for sure the beer is for piss but it is free.

who's going down? i was thinking about a run down there after my daughter's birthday in early april.
