Hi Everyone,
I may be headed to Lake Billy Chinook in a couple of weeks. Has anyone ever kited there? The trip is cutting into the last of my kite season so I'd like to take advantage of any wind if there is wind to be had
Thanks in advance for any info! |

Doubt it and I've never heard of anyone kiting there. If you were lucky enough to score you would need boat support. The lake is in canyon lands and is the confluence of the Cooked, Metolius, and Deschutes Rivers and becomes the Deschutes once again after Pelton Dam. |

I think you'd really need the right wind conditions to launch from the boat ramp. Lots of wind shadows. I windsurfed there on a 5.5 and Mistral Screamer (big board) many years back. Put in from a dock if I remember right. Lovely area, far better fishing than kiting I suspect. |

Wind is constantly sifting directions in that canyon. Not kiteable imho |
