Mon Jun 19, 17 11:22 am Kite Access for the CGWA Beach Bash this weekend. |

Hello Kiting Community! The Columbia Gorge Windsurfing Association's Beach Bash is this weekend and we have rented the Event Site as we do every year for exclusive use. However, due to what will probably be high water still, we are going to leave a 100 foot grass area at the East end of the lawn at the Event Site for pump/dry zone so you can check lines, etc. and then get to the water's edge to launch on what is going to be a small area of sand unless the water level drops. There will be windsurf racing and windsurf/SUP and foil demos all day Saturday and Sunday at the Event Site, so we ask that you please all respect our waterspace in front of the Site so cross traffic is avoided. Please Kite downwind of the Event and stay clear. There will be no launch/land capability on the grass. The Foil Fest is the Friday portion of the Beach Bash from 12 noon on, and again, we want a fun and participatory event so please leave plenty of room for beginners and stay clear.
Parking: On Friday the parking is as usual at the Event Site. On Sat and Sun the Parking is for competitors, exhibitors and the visiting public. If you want to park near the event site, lot 1 immediately south of the event site will be available for parking. Parking will be $4 all day, and will be donated to the CGWA programs for kids and river access projects which benefit all of us. If you have an Event Site parking pass, you will not be charged to park in lot one.
Most Importantly: We will have 4 and Twenty Blackbirds, Leah's Lunch and Shave Ice available in our beer garden (basically the entire Event Site) with Double Mtn and the Pines Tasting Room libations, please stop in and sample while you take a break from Kiting to check out the latest in Windsurf and SUP gear, and E-Bikes as well.
Free Concert Saturday Evening at the Waterfront Park right next door, Prollyotta starts at 6:30, The New Triumph at 8-10 pm. All the food and drink vendors will be moving from the Event Site to the Waterfront Park around 5:30pm on Saturday.
The CGWA welcomes all of you to our event, looks forward to a fun summer ahead with all of us ripping it up on the water together, and want to put on a great show for the visiting public when they come the Beach Bash this weekend. Thanks for your support!
Fly High,
