I'm not sure who was at fault, but a sturgeon crested up by the Little White Salmon today and we collided. I was going fast enough that my twin tip skewered it and I went bouncing across the water for about 30 yards. By the time I dragged back it had thrashed enough to break free.
I've dodged enough marine life over the years so I guess this was bound to happen eventually..... _________________ CGKA Member |

From your description, it sounds like the board stuck in the sturgeon and you were launched free of the board downwind and then you body dragged back to your board as sturgeon was thrashing and freeing itself from the board? _________________ revitalized by muthu-nachu |

I have hit my fair share of salmon around the White Salmon mouth, seen quite a few sturgeon also......but the best sighting 10 years ago was a Porpoise riding the bow wave on a sailboat near the Event Site. Nobody believes me, but if seal can come thru the locks, so can a freshwater porpoise! _________________ moondog |

Well at least you need to know where you are at in the river. You were by the white salmon not little white. Unless you were by drano and kited tunnels you were no where near the little white!!! _________________ Take a breath; inhale |

Getting close enough to whales in the ocean to see their grapefruit sized eyes is pretty cool, and not so rare. But the Great White's 2' fin 100' away is something I never want to see again. It was near Nelscott. _________________ Breathe, kite. |
