It is just amazing how far they have gone with the hydrofoils for kiting, windsurfing and surfing! It is good that one sport, kitesurfing has pushed the envelope for the other sports to adapt too. |

I've heard folks labeled derogatively as "barrel-dodgers"... This appears to be the watercraft of choice for those who don't wish to smack the lip. |

Look how he moves his hands - it's kinda spazzy
I think that means its pretty hard to surf a two foot wave (if u are not Kai Lenny) _________________ Go Deep!

That is outstanding.
Sort of like a new long boarding.
Jaw dropper when he started pumping to get to another wave.
Definitely birthed something with this. _________________ SPACESTICK

It's cool, but Kai Lenny probably has the best surf balance on the planet and it looked like he was really working to stay on top of that thing. Can you imagine falling in the surf with all that pointy hardware nearby? Yipes!

I believe that was Tony Logosz, or so I was told. Hadn't seen a foil windsurfer in many years, and never seen anyone make it work so well. |

It wasn't Tony for sure. I don't really know many of the windsurfers who sail out of the Event Site so I couldn't even tell you who he is if I wanted to.
He might have had a LP foil though if that helps. _________________ KB4C!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was on Maui in April and the were two local brothers about 12 and 14 years old who had just picked up a board their dad had modified to attach a foil. It was their first time out on it and both were catching waves and getting up on the foil within an hour. They were sharing the one board. Kai was there giving them pointers when they would come in to swap. I was amazed at how quickly they got it, it was a shorter mast, probably 24". |
