headed up to goldendale yesterday with pete and john to enjoy the week's new powder dumps and some west winds. met pete at 10:30 to load sleds on his trailer. hit the trails by noon. made it about a mile or two up the hill when my sled broke. waited for the guys to turn around and decided we'd leave it put and I'd piggyback on pete's without my gear. I only got to bring my skis in hopes I would jump on one of the other's kites when they needed a break. so much snow! it was hard to tell what was trails/road and what wasn't... eventually made it to the snow fields. snow was so thick it would bury the tracks. I eventually just skinned up for the last ascent which made it easier for pete and was pretty cool to spend some time walking up on top of the snow. john unfortunately got his board caught under the snow while sledding and it snapped under load. that meant he had all the kite gear , but no board to ride. SWEET! so now I get John's quiver! LOL I think we eventually got there by around 3:30. that didn't give us a lot of time to kite considering the descent would be by skis for me and then ultimately towing my sled out to the road. made it back in pitch dark but had a memorable experience for the day. frustrated with sled. anyone know a good 2 stroke mechanic?
