Snow-Kite Idaho - Spots?

Hey Everyone,

Can someone point me to some good spots in southern Idaho/ eastern Oregon ? Preferable close to Boise

There is not a ton of info online - looks like Camas Prairie is a good spot ...

Fairfield- ID. Soldier Mtn. Not sure if this is the same as Camas Prairie; think so. Late Feb some of us are heading that way....

Yeah - I think that is the same as Camas Prairie.

There's a snow kite Idaho group on yahoo you can join to get information.

There has been a few post already about snow sessions.

I am also hoping to get some camas prairie action this year. Last year was a bust so I headed to skyline and strawberry.

The coverage shown on the pine turn off cam is looking good.

There's been a bit of chatter from the group.

Water break. We are both hurting. We are not in shape for snow like this!!! Well powered on 9m. The snow is amazing. No ice at all and the sun is out.

On my way back from the Big Horn Snow kite summit I stopped at Hill City (Camas Prarie) for two days. The past two days have been windy and slowly snowing... Still some rocks to watch out for.

Some of the fields on your way up to Bogus Basin out of Boise can be good when there is snow and wind match up. I also headed up to checkout Phantom Hill just past Ketchum (Sun Valley). Needed just bit more pow but would be a great spit to glide down.

On my way through this morning I84 was closed for a while today between La Grande and Pendleton. Some really nice snow up there and plenty of wind. I need to backcountry that with the kites sometime.

I didn't get to Soldier Mtn.

I'm headed back in February - hoping the snow and wind gods are with me then too.

im in for whatever trips. I just picked up a sled to get to some more remote spots. Im hoping to go to bend a few times this winter
