Considering the season last year - a Fusion pass is essentially just a Timberline pass. Was skibowl even open once last year?

Thanks Blazehelski,

I hadn't realized there was another option. It appears I can get a timberline only ticket for $399, or a fusion pass for $499.

https://tickets.timberlinelodge.com/ItemList.aspx?node_id=369861

Now I need to decide if the extra benefits of a fusion pass are worth $100.

FYI for everybody, early discounts are only til November 8th for both Timberline and Meadows.

I've heard ads on the radio this year and many years in the past that if you purchase a new Subaru from one of the PDX dealers, they will throw in 2 fusion passes.

Spend $30k, save $1,000 Very Happy

Hey all, I found a great article focused on this year's El nino forcasted effects specific to Oregon here:
http://www.oregon.gov/oda/programs/naturalresources/documents/weather/dlongrange.pdf

Basic summary for November through January:
-Above average temperatures, but not nearly as warm as last year.
-About 70-80% of average precipitation and mountain snow.
-Brief cold periods possible, but extreme/prolonged cold unlikely.

got a 10x pass. pretty confident I can burn through that. Probably gonna hit up Revelstoke / Fernie in late Feb to get a more guaranteed pow fix.

Those damn environmentalists, always ruining our fun!

I decided to split my time up higher at Timberline due to the higher snow levels due to CLIMATE CHANGE. So I didn't get a Meadows pass. I'm going to go for the $59 passes online (blackout dates apply!). I figure if I split my time and plan ahead I'll go over by at most $100 and have more options.

Maybe if we listened to the environmentalists we'ld still be getting some snow. Bonus that when we recreate in the Gorge there isn't a shopping mall and casino at every turn or 10X as many barges hauling coal and oil down the river. As well as overfilled coal trains dumping a ton of coal per mile. Also the damn environmentalists like River Keepers have kept pressure on Hanford to contain the nuclear waste from entering the Columbia. Plus they have a really great page that shows the e-coli and bacteria levels at the event site through the season.

Casting stones from glass houses. Like it or not we all live in this environment and so we're all environmentalists.

Could i have a little OT question here? Do you know of any place in Portland where I could rent performance downhill skis? I used the rental at Meadows and Next Adventure last year, and while NA had some nice freestyle/pow skis they had terrible selection of downhill and Meadows skis are barely passable. I'm a good skier but don't ski enough in a year to buy a $1000+ ski setup.

Mountain Shop in Portland rents quality gear. I believe some / one kiters work there as well. http://www.mountainshop.net/rentals

Check with Pepi at 2nd Wind in Hood River, I believe he rents DH & Nordic gear

Did you use the rental shop at Meadows or the demo shop? It has been a while since I have used it - but the demo shop used to have quite a few of the high end skis available. There is a huge difference between the demo shop and the rental shop. Of course the prices are higher for demo gear.

The Mountain Shop has been good to skiers for many years also. They have been serving NW skiers for many years. So checking them out as stated above is certainly worth your time.

I used the rental shop - I got some vouchers for a skipass + rental from liftopia, not doing that again this year Wink
