this is the best website I've seen for the cell phone.
it has everything you need to find wind - current conditions, cams, tides, water temps for the coast and gorge.

wish i'd known about it sooner!
i'm a software developer and this is one of the best websites i've ever used - and it's FREE!!!
Anyone know who developed and maintains it?
I'm bookmarking this on my phone and deleting all the other wind-related links.

well, thanks guys Glad folks are liking it
Just got web log alerts coming from this post, so I came by to see what the buzz what about out...
Sorry the website is more windsurf centric, but doesn't really matter. It's about getting the essentials on the go when our cell phones go in & out of range.
It's free because I m aggregating, parsing and formatting free data from all over the web. sometimes a bit of a goose chase.
The website is mostly on auto-pilot. Wind & Buoy data is refreshed every 10 mn, others are on different schedules.
On the web cam page, if you touch or click on the photos, they will refresh. Some cams are finicky (like Pac city) and limit the number of concurrent connections. Other cams go down for periods of time (like Newport).. but you can infer conditions from other nearby cams anyway and I got other things to do
if you have a phone on which it's not working well, drop me a line on the contact page.
Cheers

Yep. All about getting water time....
-- I can't take all the credit though. There are lots of people who contributed to it. by giving resources, sailing guides, and their opinions |
