This is for real!

Deep Water Surf Machine

Surf’s up in Ellensburg, Washington! The future has arrived—you no longer have to live near the coast to catch a wave! This deep water surf machine, Surf City’s signature ride, will be the first in the US. Offering the most progressive, realistic surfing experience available today at the click of an iPad. Eight efficient pumps push 250,000 gallons of water to create the perfect, infinitely adjustable wave.

The “deep-water” design offers an actual surfing wave allowing riders to use full-size surfboards, paddle boards, kayaks, or body-boards in deep water. Instead of falling in 3 inches of water, like other simulated machines, you plunge into 3-4 feet of water. The Infinity Wave is designed to allow people of all ages to safely learn the skills of action water sports. The realistic surfing experience is fun, entertaining and compelling because it is an activity that allows for learning, and building on a skill that most people only dream about.

No matter if you are a grommet (a young surfer), rip like a pro, or you are preparing for the 2024 Olympics (fingers crossed), we can create the right wave for you!!!! Whether it’s the person riding or the crowd watching, the Infinity Wave sets the stage for an exhilarating surfing experience.

I love reading all the comments from the various people both for and against it.

The link/article also mentions some local HR folk too--nice work gentlemen in aiding in the design!

When and or if this thing ever gets build and runs, it will be interesting in seeing how it does. Maybe the HR port will reconsider the wakeboarding pool. . .I won't be holding my breath, but something to wish for.

Nothing will get built in HR until the greedy "Friends" get their payoff. I love people who pose as "environmentalists" looking for a payout. Rolling Eyes

Sweet name for the board Robbie; "THE PENETRATOR".

If it doesn't sell well with the water enthusiasts, I'm sure that the porn industry could come up with some ideas for uses as the shape of the board looks like a males dong ready for action ie great poolside foreshadowing prop for shooting a porn movie;-)

SouthPark came up with a crass yet very funny episode on the shake-weight. I'm sure they could have a field day with the design/shape of this board.

Actually, if this is not an April Fool joke, I find it interesting/fascinating that humankind is once again adopting shapes from the human body/Mother Nature for uses. It just goes to show that evolution and Mother Nature, over time, is the best engineer (why reinvent the wheel).
