Met this guy jeff daly. At shipwreck today. He has a people mover he bought from the LA zoo. He said he'd welcome the opportunity to do some shuttling for a fee this summer. Could be a pretty cool event for demo day or even just a big group. I'll attach his contact info.

Looks like Lot D will go today. East at 23mph at Megler Astoria bridge and 50 at Rooster. Clatsop only shows 14 but I know it's always low. If anyone goes, I'd love a report later so I can handicap the Clatsop sensor.

We kited at the fort stevens pond yesterday. 12m I'd guess steady 15 to 16 mph between 11:30 and 3:30 if that helps.

I'd consider doing the trek from Seattle for a setup like that in the summer months!

Looks windier today. Rooster is 50 today, yesterday it ramped up from 35 to 50. I think it needs to be 50 to be good at Lot D. You can see it get better around 4 yesterday. Heres graphs of Megler and Clatsop yesterday and today. I'd bet Lot D is over 20 now. Jones and Longview are 16 but back on 1-8-15 Jones looked great at a really even 23mph.

If the Clatsop sensor is working - I just generally look at the gust reading as the real wind speed. Looks like 9-10 meter wind today.

Lot B to Sunset is epic, just hard to stage cars, but this shuttle service would be money for that. Looking forward to long weekends on the north coast.
would be cool to have a nice surfboard rack installed and place for wet gear, ice cooler for post apres. I'm in!

Clatsop spit sensor is famously wrong! It will say 9mph and it will be blowing 18-25. Seen days when the bridge sensor says 20mph and its pushing steady 26-30mph.

The wind tends to turn and funnel right thru the ponds, best wind on tip on sandbar and gets less the more you get inside. get farther out in the river itself and wind drops to more like the sensors are reading. I love how the east wind funnels into the ponds, makes it nice and steady.

I almost called in last 2 days to kite it, been good wind, feel it every morning leaving my house, makes me sick Sad

I hope to put a wind sensor on my house soon and try and get the info online for people. Been fairly reliable just add 5mph for ponds.

I'd donate for a new sensor even though I've been paying $100 to windsurf for the last 15 years!

Clatsop is wrong for E wind but consistently wrong just add 10.

Generally right on the money for N/NW/W/SW/SE wind.
