i plan on seeing an eye doc but didn't know if this is serious enough to take an unpaid day and go in today ...

yesterday i took a couple hard wipeouts and when i got home i noticed
something weird with my right eye

especially noticeable when i move my eye side to side or up and down
it is like there is a floater or something but not the usual thin
black thready kind - it zooms across the center of my vision as i move
my eye - it is like a small transparent blurr

i can read ok, but if i move my eye up or down quickly while reading
it is blurry when that floater or what ever it is moves through the
center of my vision (very temporary and i cant zero in/focus on the
floater)

wondering if i should give it a few days to clear up or see an eye doc asap - eye does not hurt - eye ball and eye lid not sore and i do not see any flashes

I'm not an eye doc but retinal detachments can occur with trauma and cause floaters:

I wouldn't wait to get in. Hopefully it's nothing.

Also not an ophthalmologist, but retinal detachment, or a foreign body in your cornea (grain of sand, etc) is definitely possible. I would get in as soon as you can just to be safe.

Im a physician, and from what you describe it could definately be retinal detachment which is not something you should sit on, could cause permanant damage. Make an appt asap. Hopefully it isnt but better safe than sorry esp when it comes to your sight

Ever heard the saying: "stepping over a lost dollar bill to pick up a shiny nickel." Yes, missing a day of work and pay hurts, but you are talking about your sight. Does your current job require you to be able to see?

Get it checked out!

just saw the eye doc and got dialated and checked out - he said I musta really hit hard cuz had two blobs of the eye gel break loose and were floating in my field of vision - not the best news but at least not detachment (which i googled - holy crap, dont want that to ever happen)
