Sella, thanks, I will be in the Gorge this weekend and may try and take you up on that.

Coolio. It's in my rig so it's all yours to check out. PM me when you're in town.

I have one I have never used and want to give it a go. One question. Can I go commando or do I need another layer?

Seat Harness/Under Layer / Sliding Bar

Under Seat Harness:
In a great fitting wet suit, I go commando. Down winders, or potential for long hot walk/hitching rides back; I wear very light weight fast dry running shorts.

Seat Harness:
I’ve tried the Dakine Nitrous harness shorts – No low back support, too much slack in the loaded support system. Not great for long hard pinching into the wind. Not for beginners. I prefer the Fusion’s low hook option for large traversing & swell riding.

Sliding Hook:
For 8 years (windsurfing and kiting). I been using my own custom sliding bars hacked program / Dakine Short bar on a strap. Dynabar has shortcomings but is on a respectable track. Now, I’m kiting w/ the 2014 Dakine sliding hook (eh? It works ok. But, still needs re-work / predictable shortcomings confirmed by use). However, arguably, the best/cost effective off the shelf choice. Word is; North has one in the works. I expect North's engineering acumen will exceed Dakine's design approach. Yes Dakine…I can help you evolve your current slider.

I've used the nitrous for years. Usually in a full 4/3 wetsuit or shorty. I've slammed the water a thousand times in ever way, never slammed my privates Smile

I think you'd be fine swinging 'em. The nitrous are board shorts, the cinching up strap on the thighs should keep water from shooting up there.
