Those things are rad. I was talking to someone at the motocross track who got one and was converting it into an adventure rig. They were claiming 26 MPG on their super long diesel version. They also said since it's front wheel drive that it's incredibly easy to drive.

$33,000 will get you a new Dodge Promaster...
or you can spend $20,000 for a used Chevy with AWD and have $13,000 left over to buy gas. that will take you almost 50,000 miles..... and reducing the carbon footprint (recycle, renew, reuse).

Yea I agree. I think it's great that car manufacturers are nevertheless engineering vehicles that appeal to fuel economy conscious individuals.

Here's one kitted out for some ideas: http://winnebagotouring.com/products/2014/travato/

I like how the bed folds up against the side so the van is more fully usable:

I always thought this would be a great rig.

Could make some fat stacks to feed the addiction, too...

that appears to be van fiat sells under numberous brand names in europe. and now the US which makes since given fiat owns a majority of dodge. Which is good, it means it is not entirely new, just new to the US, and not subject to as many of those first year problems.
